Mandzukic reps in London for Chelsea, Arsenal talks

Arsenal and Chelsea are in talks with Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic. The Daily Express says reports in Italy suggest that Mandzukic's agent was in London Friday to get a better sense of the two clubs intentions with respect to his client. The Croatian is likely to be one of the hottest properties on the transfer market should he decide to leave the Allianz Arena and it seems that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been given a chance to land the 27-year-old.

WALCOTT SAYS ARSENAL CRITICS NOT GIVING THEM CREDIT

Theo Walcott has warned Arsenal 's Barclays Premier League title rivals that his side's belief if growing stronger with every victory. "If you want to win titles then you have got to go to the end and the thing about this team at the moment is that we never give up," said Walcott. "Every game that we win the belief gets stronger and stronger. "A lot of people are not giving us enough credit at the moment, but we do not mind that. "We will just carry on with our job, keep picking up three points, and see where we are at the end of the season."
Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has said the French champions have no plans to sign Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria. Argentina international Di Maria, 25, could feature against PSG in a friendly between the two clubs in Doha on Thursday. Although Di Maria has been tipped to move from the Bernabeu, where he made 11 La Liga starts in the first half of the season, Blanc said he would not be heading to the French capital. "All good players are welcome at PSG. But we're talking about a player who's at Real Madrid, one of the best clubs in Europe,” he said. “I'll be happy to see him play, just like all the Real Madrid players. But signing him is not on the agenda." Di Maria has been strongly linked with a move to PSG's Ligue 1 rivals Monaco.

Chelsea's Terry heaps praise on Hazard

Chelsea captain John Terry has hailed Eden Hazard's "world class" contribution to the Blues' recent fine form and backed Fernando Torres to enjoy a bumper year in front of goal in 2014. - Lythell: Oscar stars in New Year win Hazard and Torres starred for Chelsea as they completed a perfect Christmas programme with an impressive 3-0 win at Southampton on New Year's Day that drew high praise from boss Jose Mourinho. And Terry told Chelsea's official website: "Eden has been different class for us. "When we bought him we knew he was a world class player and he's proving that game after game. "He's getting stronger and stronger, he's our top scorer at the moment as well so he's vitally important going forward -- but he's working hard defensively as well so he's a great asset. "Nando [Torres] has been working so hard as well. Hopefully in the New Year he can kick on and score some more goals, but from the team's point of view it was a very good performance [at Southampton, where Torres scored the opener]." Terry revealed that a half-time team talk from Mourinho reminded the Chelsea players of the significance of the game against the Saints as they turned a 0-0 scoreline into an emphatic victory. "The manager stressed that there was no point beating Liverpool and going away to Arsenal and picking up a point against a very good side if we threw it all away," he added. "At half-time, the manager talked about closing the game out and that's the first time we've done that, particularly away from home. It was very important."
Liverpool insiders insist they're not in talks for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello. It was claimed in Madrid this week that Tello would be joining Liverpool on-loan. But the Liverpool Echo says Liverpool did enquire about his availability but they are now looking at other options.

MAN UTD TO LAUNCH BID FOR JUVENTUS DYNAMO VIDAL

Manchester United are being linked with a mega offer for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. Vidal has stated he is happy in Turin. But Le Sport 10 says the Chilean may be persuaded to change his mind with extremely lucrative personal terms. It would still be something of a coup if boss David Moyes managed to pull off the deal, Vidal having only signed a new deal at the club last month.

MAN UTD, REAL MADRID TARGET GUNDOGAN TO MAKE BVB DECISION THIS MONTH

Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke expects a decision from Ilkay Gundogan in the coming weeks over his future. Watzke's words will alert the attention of Manchester United and Arsenal who are keen on the German. Though in Spain, it's claimed Real Madrid have first option. Watzke said: "He knows, though, that we expect a decision from him soon. "Obviously, we want to keep Ilkay but there is no agreement so far. "At the end of the day, only he can decide whether he wants to continue his development with us."
